Benefits of CTTAM Membership

For further information on any of the following benefits please direct inquiries to the contact persons provided.

Important: Members who have terminated membership with CTTAM are no longer eligible for the same group programs. Participation in some programs can continue although usually at higher rates.

CTTAM Retired Members Insurance Plan

CTTAM has partnered with the Alberta Retired Teachers’ Association to offer retired CTTAM members a retiree benefits plan. To participate in the ARTA Retiree Benefits Plan, you must be a retired member of CTTAM age 55 or older, a permanent resident of Canada and are enrolled in all provincial or territorial health care plans for which you are eligible.

Enrollment:
You are automatically eligible to enroll in an Extended Health Plan with emergency travel (Total or Ultimate Health plans) if ARTA receives your application within 60 days of termination from an employer-sponsored group benefits plan (either as an employee or eligible dependent). After 60 days, applications require medical evidence of insurability and you may be denied coverage. Your ARTA Retiree Benefits Plan coverage starts the day after you current coverage terminates. Please note that CTTAM retired members must purchase an ARTA Associate membership to participate in the retired member benefit plans. If you have additional questions about open enrollment, ARTA, or health plans being offered to CTTAM retired members, contact Jennifer Hope at jhope@arta.net. An Associate ARTA membership is required.
