Unlocking creativity and efficiency: The power of generative AI

Time:   8:30 am to 12 noon


Join us for an interactive exploration of Generative AI (GenAI), one of the most exciting frontiers in technology. Discover how this revolutionary technology, exemplified by OpenAI’s ChatGPT 3.5, is reshaping industries and empowering professionals like never before. In this session, we’ll delve into the origins of GenAI and its rapid ascent in the tech world. We’ll demystify what Generative AI is, its capabilities, and the reasons behind its meteoric rise. Learn about its unique functionalities and how it differs from traditional AI tools.

The instructor, Al McLeod, has spent over 40 years working in senior information technology roles across a wide variety of industries including technology services, telecommunications, media, government, financial services and insurance.

Al is a “ever-evolving innovator”, working with academic institutions that include:

  • the University of Winnipeg;
  • ComIT;
  • the University of Manitoba and
  • Red River College Polytechnic (RRC Polytech), where he is the Chair of the RRC Polytech ACE Space Entrepreneur-In-Residence Advisory Committee.

Al trains applied computer education students and staff in innovation methods, and collaborates with academic leaders who teach innovation and entrepreneurship.
