The Provincial Government of Manitoba approved the Certified Applied Science Technologists Act of Manitoba (PDF file format) in 1998.
The purpose of the Association is to regulate and govern the use of the words, “Certified Engineering Technician” and “Certified Engineering Technologist”, as well as the initials, “CET”, “C.E.T.”, “CTech”, “C.Tech.” or any like words, initials, or expressions used alone or in combination with other words or expressions as a designation meaning a person recognized by law as a Certified Engineering Technician or Certified Engineering Technologist of The Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba Inc.
