The Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba (CTTAM) is the regulatory body within the Province of Manitoba for engineering and applied science technicians and technologists.
Certified CTTAM Members are approved by the Certification Board along with the Board of Directors to use one of the following titles:
- C.E.T. — Certified Engineering Technologist
- C.Tech. — Certified Engineering Technician
Employers, governments, educational institutions and the public in Manitoba and across Canada recognize these titles.
Certification with CTTAM demonstrates that the certified member has:
- Agreed to uphold and abide by CTTAM’s Code of Ethics, promising to fulfill your duty to the Public, the profession and fellow members.
- Met a national standard of education and experience.
- Made a commitment to their profession; and
- Made a personal statement that they are a technology professional
CTTAM credentials are recognized across Canada and internationally, making it easy to transfer to another jurisdiction. CTTAM has an agreement with each of the other provincial associations to allow certified technicians and technologists to transfer to another province and retain their certified status.
There is an agreement with the National Institute of Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) in the United States and the Institution of Incorporated Engineers (IIE) in the United Kingdom that allows for mobility of certified members.
Canadian technicians and technologists are also part of the Sydney Accord, an international agreement through the International Engineering Alliance, that allows certified members to transport their credentials to many other partner countries. Certified technologists can apply for the international engineering technologist (IntET) or international engineering technician (IntETn) designation.

Our operations are now virtual!
We have transitioned to a virtual model and vacated our 602-1661 Portage Avenue office in June 2020. Our alternative workspace, Launch Coworking - Southside, provides our staff and the CEO & Registrar a "drop in" place to work from on an ad hoc basis. We are also able to hold meetings at the alternative workplace when it is safe to do so.
As a reminder to our Members, you have to call CTTAM at 204-784-1081 or 204-784-1082 to book an appointment. Please note that appointments will only be booked when it is safe to gather in person. In addition, video meetings are also available via ZOOM or Microsoft Teams.
